- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)roofless house filled with all the birds of the air I would run around the four walls and I wouldnt let one bird out. The King said that he was surely smart. He is not half as smart as I am said the second. I could shoe the swiftest racehorse while he would be running as swift as he could. Then the King said that he was very smart indeed. But he is not near as smart as I am said the youngest. Then tell me how smart you are then said the Kng. I am so smart that if you had a bag of fine feathers and went up to the top of a high mountain on a very windy day and threw out the feathers he would be able to catch them all and bring them back to him. The King said that he was puzzled again and that he would give it to which ever of them was the laziest. The first said that he was so lazy that if he was left lying on a cross - roads he wouldnt stir hand or foot untill he would be cut into pieces. The second said that he was so lazy that if he was sitting under a chimney and if a soot drop fell in his eye he would not close his eye lid untill it would be burnt. The 3rd said that he was so lazy that if he was sitting beside a rick of turf and if it was set on fire, he would'nt leave it untill he would be burnt into a cinder. The King was puzzled again for the third time and he fell down dead on the ground. The boys buried him decently(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
