When the new potatoes were dug "bruisey" or [bruitan] was made. For the 11th Nov a fowl was cooked and for shrove tuesday "bonnachs" were made. On Easter Sunday, the people feasted on eggs. The children had a "prochog".After a cow calving "beistings" were made for dinner. This was the first milking boiled. Side-tables were in fashion here long ago and are still. There are two beams going up side by side. They are the breath of the table apart. Then there is an iron bar running through the top of the table, which is going through the beams. The table is swung up and down according as it is desired.
