  1. There is one fort in the townland of Tonagh. It is situated on a hill and if you stand on this hill you can see four forts in the district namely Corecrreeny, Corranhue, Cross-Forts and Sean Fort. At this fort there are twenty eight big dale trees growing in a ring and outside of these trees there are stone ditches and white thorn bushes growing on top of them. About eighty years ago the men of the townland went and cut down the trees and knocked down the ditches and sowed oats in the place of them and when the crop was going to be cut, nothing was growing in this field but little red stalks. At that fort is a big old stone that no one can lift. It is said that under that stone is buried a pot of gold that a Norman chief came to Ireland riding on a horse and came to this fort an buried the gold there and he buried a gold watch also, and he put a curse on any one who was tempted to lift the stone.
