- Our farm is situated in the townland of Aughaconey in the parish of Crosserlough, in the county of Cavan, and in the barony of Clonmahon. There are twenty seven fields on our farm.
The names of the fields are
The Strip: and the reason it is called this name is, because it is a long strip of land.
The Flat Hill: The reason it is called the flat hill is, because it is on the top of a hill and it is flat.
The "Gollas": The reason it is called the "Gollas" is because it is wet and marshy.
Pull-Mháire: The reason it is called Pull-Mháire is, because long ago there was a girl drowned in that field.
"Cooney-Mooney": The reason it is called Cooney-Mooney is, because it is a boggy field and it is generally let for grazing.
