- 99 years ago Ballinagh was burned to the ground and the only thing that remained was the tumbled smoke-blackened stones which marked the desolate side of that once proud town.
At that time the houses were all thatch.
The fire started at two o clock in the morning, the people were wandering up and down the village while the flames were increasing. A man by the name of Mr Rourke made a song about the tragedy and this is it
