Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Long ago the people ate three meals a day, breakfast, dinner, and supper. For breakfast they took plenty of porridge. They used to boil a big pot of porridge every morning for the breakfast. For dinner they took potatoes and salt and they would sometimes take a drink of butter milk along with the potatoes. They had a sort of long basket called a "lusset",. The people put the pot of potatoes into this "lusset", and the whole family them sat around it and ate their dinner. The people sometimes had some bacon or cabbage or turn nips for dinner. They boiled the bacon and cabbage together in a big metal pot. The cabbage and bacon was them taken out and put on a big wooden dish and a good share of potatoes were peeled and put on it too. Some salt was left behind the big dish of food and the family sat around and ate their share of dinner. For supper they had the porridge usually. They boiled it early in the evening and it was ready for eating at night. The
