  1. The animals most common on our farm are the cows, horses, goats, pigs, sheep. The pouetry are hens, geese, ducks and turkeys.
    There was a famous horse fancier named Hugh Gray, Ryefield, Munterconnough who always kept and bred race horses. One little racing mare called Motor Car being the favourite. She ran at all the shows that were held in Cavan, Oldcasle, Navan, Dublin and Castlepallord and won the Cup everywhere she went. She was ridden by the famous jockey called Patrick Callahan from the pound. She was praised in song and story. Here is one of them.
    Now Motor Car is six years old
    She never feared a foe
    She far surpassed the noble
    At the grand Oldcastle Show
    They came in from Trim and Navan
    From Moate and Mullinger
    To win the Cup from Hughie
    And his mare called Motor Car.
