When the Mag - pie comes near the house it is a sign of bad luck, and when the robin comes near it is a sign of snow. When the sea - Gull flies near the land it foretells storm. It is said that it was Mag - pie that taught the crow to build its nest and when they were almost finished they had a quarrel and separated so the crow never got its nest finished
Of all the birds the Mag - pie is the people's best enemy. The old people believed that it was un - lucky to meet a Mag - pie on their journey There was an old saying about this(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
