- A good many "travelling people" come around Mullagh. The best known of them are the Dolans, the McCanns, Murrays, Dunnes, Powers, Wards, Cooneys and McCormacs.
They come usually on fair days. They come in caravans and camp along some bye-roads very near the village.
They have tins to sell or artificial flowers, baskets even holy pictures-anything that will make a little money. They are honest and do not steal anything, except perhaps a little turf to make a fire.
The people of the village do not object to them.
