    One day the Landlord came along and asked him would he change his Faith. He said he would not and the land was taken off him, and the Protestant School was built on it.
    No wonder Father Bernard did not like Catholic children attending that school. Were it not for that this school would never have been built. The Mullagh people gave more help both in money, labour and building material than the Killinkere people to this school, because Father Bernard was a native of Raffoney in Mullagh parish. People in Anaharnaty were offered £5 by the Protestants for stones to extend their church and the same people refused and gave them free to Fr Bernard for this school.
