  1. Long ago there used to be fairies and leipreachans in the district. They were often seen having games of football on moonlight nights on flat fields. People who were out late at nights saw them mending and making shoes under mushrooms.
One night a man was in his neighbour's house and he heard them talking about fairies saying that they had crocks of gold hidden under the roots of trees.
The man went to the fairies and he caught one of them and asked him where he could find gold and he said he could find it at the root of a tree. If anyone disturbed them they would come and take children leaving fairy children in their places.
