- My Home District
The name of my home district is Bracklin. The way it got the name Bracklin was from the two Irish words "bresc lín", meaning the spotted meadow. It is in the parish of Bailieborough. It is in the Barony of blankee.
There are about sixteen families in the district. There are about fifty people in it. There are mor houses thatches than slated in the district. The familt name most in the district in Clarke.
There are some old people in ot over 70. They don't know Irish. They can tell some old stories in English but they cannot tell them in Irish. There were more houses in it long ago then nowadays. There are not many houses in ruins now.
It is mentioned in any songor in any old saying. It is very hilly. There is not much bog in it. There is no wood in it. There are no lakes or rivers in the district. There are some small streams in thee district. I was bred and born and reared in Bracklin. Bracklin(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
