Ar an leathanach seo
- The people had a good many meals a day. Tea was only taken as a treat on Sunday. The people ate meal-a-crush and Sowens, Bull's Milk, beastings.
Sowens are made from the seeds or shells of corn. The seeds are put into a basin, and steeped with water for a couple of nights. Then it is strained and the water is called Bull's milk, and it is put into a pot and boiled and it is called meal-a-crush sowens.
Cúl Ceannphrionn was also eaten. It was made from boiled potatoes. The potatoes are bruised and milk was put on them and butter was put in them also. Sometimes they put shives, sciollans, are mixed with it so as to give it a taste.
The meal-a-crush was taken to their dinner also. It consisted of a handful of oat meal mixed in gravy, and taken to their potatoes. The people ate salted herrings fried on a brander.
The people ate a lot of oaten bread. they made the oaten bread on a griddle over the fire. There were no(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
