There was a woman living in a house one time and a jack daw was building her nest in the chimney and the woman covered it with netwire. The jack daw cawed mournfully down at her nest. The next day there was a crowd of Jack-daws at the chimney. So it seems the birds have a language of their own.
The robin is a common bird in this district. It comes and begs crumbs from our houses in winter. When there is snow out it comes hopping in front of our doors.
Everybody likes the robin and would not kill it because it eats insects and worms that eat the farmers plants. People keep tame birds(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
