- Long ago, there lived in this locality, a man named ''Charlie the brave.'' Every Saturday night he visited the public house, and he seldom returned home sober. On his way home, Charlie had to pass through a cemetary, bet although he came through it at the most unearthly hours never a thought of fear came into his head.
One night, the young fellows of the neighbourhood, determined to give Charlie the fret of his life. They arranged that three of them would go to the graveyard and that one of them would lie down in a grave which had been opened that day, and await charlie's arrival. Their plan carried to the letter, and they had not long to wait, until they heard Charlie coming whistling gaily.
When he drew near to the grave, the lad inside began a strange, sad wail. charlie did not hesitate, but stepped boldly over to the grave and peered down but as it was quite dark he could see nothing, although he could hear the sound all the time.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
