   and plant a crop of potatoes in it. They told him not to, that the fairies would not allow him. He did not take much notice of what they said, but a few days later he began to plough it. He almost ploughed it all in one day, but what was his surprise when he came back the second day, to find that the ploughing he had done was now turned back, that you would think it never was ploughed at all.
   He became very angry, because he thought that someone was playing tricks on him. He began to plough again, and when night came he had it finished. But in the morning he found it as though it never had been ploughed at all. He then believed that it must be the fairies that were undoing his work, so he never tried to plough it again.
