1. The O'Reillys of Drung

   In an evening fine in the harvest time, when the trees were russet brown I passed into old Drung churchyard as the sun was shining down.
   When the solemn stillness of this place made me in pensive mood
   And, brought back my mind to bygone times, which for all of us is good.

   Then up and hurrah for the O' Reillys brave,
   that great old Breffny clan.
   Who fought and died in bygone times, for
   Faith and Fatherland.

   As I passed around The O' Reillys' vault then
   came upon my view.
   Their coat-of-arms on their old tomb
   showed they were princely too.
   They ruled old Breffny in the past,
   for many a balmy day,
   Alas! for night can vanquish night, they fell and passed away.

   'Tis here my own dear kith and kin,
   now sleep for many years.
   When the fight for Faith and Fatherland
