    Camp hill is situated a short distance from the village of Ballyhaise, and is so called because the Cromwellian Colonel encamped there and planted his artillery there in 1651 to besiege me of the O'Reillys' castles at Ballinargy, on the opposite side of the river Annalee. The castle was unable to withstand the fierce attack, and was demolished, only the foundations are to be seen at
