Spades were made locally by blacksmiths formerly. They are mostly bought in shops now. Seed is taken from eating potatoes for planting.
Neighbors often help one another to drop and to plant the potatoes.
Before the potatoes come up out of the ground they are moulded; the people call it the second moulding. Then when the potatoes come up over the ground the allies are grubbed and the double mould board plough is put to them and pushes the clay up to the gases - That is called landing. The potatoes are generally dug up with double mould board plough. My brother picks the potatoes. They are picked in(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
