- "The Lanlord"
The local lanlord in my district was James Martin of Woodfield. He lived in the district during his life time. he was a good landlord He got some of the land from poor people that were not able to pay for it. The land was divided into tennant farms under his guidance. If they were caught cutting a bush off the land, they were severly punished, or cast into prison.
Some of them were unable to pay the rent again and the landlord kept the rent himself. There were collections made for them but there was not enough of money collected for them to pay(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
