    1. Behans in Caherfinick was a public house long ago.
    2. Up where Purtils is now there was a Coastgard Station. Ships came in there often. There is an old story here that in Cromwell's time a ship load of boys and girls were sent as slaves either from Killard or Rhynagonnaught.
