- The name of my townland is Corcreigha, and the Parish I live in is Drumgoon. There are seven families in the townland of Corcreigha. The most common name is Carragher. Most houses in Corcreiga are thatched. There was no other language in olden times only Irish. There are two people in Corcreigha over seventy. They do not know Irish. They can tell stories in English. Their names are Mrs Sheridan and Mr Bernard McDonald.
Houses are more numerous in former times. There are dozens now in ruins. People emigrated in former years. They are not mentioned in any song or story. The land is hilly boggy and good, There is one Lake and plenty of streams in this townland. There are no stories connected with them.- Bailitheoir
