- There are many fairy forts in our district, which were called certain names by our ancestors. At Carrahan, which is about eight miles south east of Ennis, there is a fort called the "Rath of the Hill". At Clooney, which is about eight miles east of Ennis, there is a fort which is supposed to be haunted. A green light is seen there.
