  1. In July 1928 after work in the Summer Joe Bunce, Jack Hickey and Tom Davis went swimming to West Bank in Coonagh. Joe Bunce stayed too long in the water and could swim no longer. Before his companions had time to reach him he went to the bottom. Five boats then went to search for the body with nets grappling irons and hooks. A man by the name of Patrick O'Halloran dived to the bottom followed by his dog but did not succeed in securing the body
After an hour's search the body was recovered in a shore net by Michael Cronin, James Hickey and Michael Mc Inerney.
