  1. In the north west of Ballyheigue there is a blessed well called Glendahillon[?] Well, and there is an old story told about it. It is said that there was a convent there long ago the remains can still be seen and there were nuns in it. It is said that a ship came in to the harbour and it was full of robbers. They said that they would kill the nuns, and they started praying and the robbers got blind. Then the nuns took pity on them and they told them to wash their eyes in the water and they got cured. People who have sore eyes go on
