Saving the potatoes
We generally dig out the potatoes with a fork, in the month of October.
When they are all dug out we leave them for about two hours to dry. Then we pick all the big potatoes and put them in a pit.
First we cover them with straw, and outside the straw we put clay.
Then we pick all the small potatoes which are called poreens, put them in sacks, and bring them home for the fowl and pigs.
