- In the year thirteen ninty-two Kilcullen bridge was built. The workmen who built it built huts nearby and after that a town sprung up called (Cill Cuillin) the Church of the Holly now called Kilcullen. When Hugh O Donnell escaped from Dublin Castle the Liffey which runs through Kilcullen was guarded.
The name Doyle is very frequent around my district. A race called Dubh Gaill (Doyle) came into Wicklow. They always sailed inland, and the came up the Liffey(continues on next page)- Collector
