- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Callow, Carranagruckane.Races were held here annually in the past ie. horse races and donkey races and foal races. As far as we can ascertain, these races were held from fifty to sixty years ago. There is a story told that at one of these races a jockey was killed from his horse with a stone thrown from the shelter of a furze bush, in order to prevail him from winning the race. The blow killed him, but he had promised to ride in another race subsequently and his spirit returned, rode the promised race and won it.
