    Long ago shirts and other garments were made from flax. Very few in this district have spinning wheels, nowadays but nearly every woman knits her own stockings from yarn which is bought at the local shops.
    There are only about a half a score of spinning wheels in this district at he present day because very few women know how to spin presently.
