  1. The people are not as strong now as they were in the olden times.
    My grand-uncle was a very strong man he often carried seven hundred and a half up twelve steps in a store in Ballyhaunis. I had another uncle who put a hundred weight up straight with one hand.
    There was another man in Crossard who tied two half hundred weights to his hair and swung them round his head.
    There was a man in Coolnaha named Paddy Freyne who was in town and he had a bag of flour to get home in a cart. He went into some house and he delayed, when he came out he found that the card was gone
