    He watched out if anyone knew us,
    But got no reward for our pains,
    As we journeyed from Dartmoor to Lewes,
    Secured in our handcuffs and chains,
    But soon other thoughts were thinking
    For ere we had reached the half way
    Like boys after school we were drinking
    A glass of the couldest of tay.

    So let us to England be greatful,
    And trust her by night and by day
    And swear that rebellion is hateful
    As long as she gives us could tay
