  1. Long ago when mass was over there used to be three Hail Mary's and a Hail Holy Queen said. During that time also there were a great many ghosts to be seen at night. Since that time another prayer was made for those poor spirits and they are vanished now. The old people used to say if a person promised to visit any friend and to die without visiting he was sure to return.
    Mrs Fenlon in Culmore had a son in America who was always saying he would come home. He died and one night his mother heard great noise in the cow house. She got up an went out. Just as she was at the gable of the house she met her son. He shook hands with her saying "Good Bye" and vanished.
    My grandmother's brother was coming home from playing cards one night. Outside his own house he met four men carrying a coffin. He went in home ate his supper and died. A man in Cloonagh died once and
