    The people cut the turf with a turf-spade. This is like the ordinary spade but there is a wing on the left side of it. Long ago the people cut the turf in the same way but they called this implement by the Irish name "sleágan".
    About seventy years ago the people cut all their crops with the hook. Now all the crops are cut with a scythe or with a mowing
