    In the townland of Doontas there is a field called "Baile Lann". It is believe that there was a priest killed there in the Penal days. When the English soldiers caught him they cut off his head with a scythe blade. There is a heap of stone in one corner of the field in the shape of a grave. The people say that the priest was buried there.
    In a field called "Gárrdha Beag" in the townland of Doontas there are a number of graves. The people of the townland say that they people who are buried there, died of hunger in the penal days.
    In the penal days there lived a woman out in the Doontas mountain whoose name was Sibine Franey. She was living herself. She was very poor and she died of hunger in those days
