  1. In Summer the potatoes are sprayed. They are sprayed with a spraying machine. First they steep the blue stone. They leave it steeped for about a day.
    Then they get washing soda and they melt it in a bucket. Long ago the people used to spray with besoms. They spray to keep away the blight or a rot on the potatoes. The spray is made with water, washing soda, and blue stone. The potatoes are sprayed
