  1. The cure the old people had for warts was to count the warts and put a stone into a bag for each wart and throw it on the road. The first person to pick up the stones would take the warts.
    If any child had the Whooping Cough they would pull him under a black female donkey three times, then they would give the donkey oatmeal bread to eat and any crumbs that fell from her would be boiled in milk and given to the child to eat.
    A cure for nose-bleeding was to put the key of the kitchen door down the persons back and it used to stop it. There were people in the parish who used to set charms for nose-bleeding - Tom McGrath, Ballinamult, Gerry Ryan, Ballinamult and Thomas Power, Kilbrien.
