  1. Once upon a time a priest named Father Hearne was going on a sick call at about twelve o'clock in the night and when coming along a certain part of the road the horse refused to travel. The driver got down and went leading the horse but he would not go. The priest told him to go to the other side and lead but the horse would not go and the priest saw a person dressed in white standing on the fence. After a while the horse began to travel and the driver kept leading the horse by the head and so he passed. He went along for a while and then stopped again and the driver went leading him again but he would
