  1. About half a mile up on the Moy road there is a Whitethorn bush growing. It is about a hundred years old. It is sometimes referred to as the black bush. It got this name because every night a big black dog is supposed to be seen leaping from behind it.
Allingham’s house is a large dwelling house built on the roadside in Portmason. It is supposed to be haunted. Long ago this house was burned and a girl was also burned. Every night when the clock strikes twelve this girl is supposed to come out and walk round the house and then she disappears.
