  1. Candle Making
    My Grandmother used to tell us how they had to live in olden times.
    There was no light, only what they made themselves out of Tallow. They had to kill a beast or cow and take the tallow and melt it. A wick was made out of cotton thread. The cotton threads were passed thro' the narrow opening at one end of the candle mould and secured there by means of a stick to which the thread was looped and fastened to a nail.
    The threads were brought out at the wider end of the mould stretched taut and kept so by being fastened to a stick or nail passed horizontally acoss the end of the mould
