  2. In the Penal Days a priest used say mass in an old cave at the back of Moher. They used have a long rope all round the cave. This day the soldiers (the soldiers) came and made for the cave. When they came to the rope they had to stand still. The priest sprinkled the holy water and they had to remain there until Mass was over and the priest and people moved away. The soldiers could not even fire a shot.
