Long ago when Our Lord was dying on the cross a drop of the precious blood fell on a robin's breast and it red ever since. It is said that nobody should kill a robin. The wagtail builds her nest in the walls of an old house. No-body likes her because when Our Lord was being caught by the the thieves she was trying to point him out to them. The wren is the king of birds. One day there was a dispute among the birds to see which of them would be king. They said which ever one of them would fly the highest would be king. They started the race and the eagle was first and said that he was king but the wren flew out from under her wing and was made king.
