    There are many old customs associated with Christmas Day and the other holidays.

    There are many old customs associated with Christmas and the other holidays throughout the year.
    In almost every house there is a big log kept for the fire on Christmas night, which is called the Yule log.
    The Christmas candle is lighted on every window.
    Every member of the household stirs the plum pudding.
    On New Years Eve the fire is not allowed to die out it is brought into the next year.
    The first Monday of the New Year is called Hansell
