  1. Local Cures
    When people were ill about seventy years ago in this locality they immediately started off for Biddy Erley, a witch who lived in the Faha mountain to the South East of Gort. They brought with them a bottle of Whiskey and Biddy was supposed to be able to tell them everything they said since they left their homes till they arrived at her cabin in the cliff in the mountain.
    She had a black bottle and into this she looked and then told whether the person would live or die.
    Whooping cough was to be cured by drinking the milk left by a ferret. Asking a
