It is said that after the famine there was great starvation in the district and that several people left or died and that the Wastelands Company went away.
The townland is not mentioned in any song or story. The land is poor and boggy and very little good for crops.
Mountains are on every side and there is a wood about a mile distant. This wood is Marble Hill Wood and is a mile and a half in length and is being cut down at present and replanted.
About a mile to the north there is a river called Reynabrone river.
It rises in Reynabrone and runs south and runs east to the Shannon.
Some fish are caught in it occasionally such as trout, eels and small salmon.
The townland is not mentioned in any song or story.- Bailitheoir
