Ar an leathanach seo
- I live in the townland of Loughatorick in the parish of Ballinakill in the Barony of Leitrim a mile from the boundary of Clare and about six miles from Loughrea. There are forty houses in the townland of Loughatorick about two hundred people. The family name most common is Fahy.
The majority of the houses are small and thatched.
During the famine years of 1847 and 1848 about twenty families left Loughatorick,
Some of them died on the road side of cold and hunger and more in the workhouses. They never returned. The ruins of their houses are still to be seen.
The townland takes its name from a large fishing lake(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
