  1. Travelling people still go around the country but not in such numbers as in former times. The sall only small things. They are generally sold to farmers wives. They are a poor people but some have the name of being wealthy. They are always welcome to the farmers house. They often get food and lodgings from the farmer. Some some in bunches and stay in the district for a week or so. In return they give the news of the district around.
