    There are a great many holy wells around this district.

    There is a holy well in Gubarcreeny in John Feely's field. It is called St Marshal's well. It cures animals and people. When the people go to the well they make a station and leave something after them at the well. There is a heap of stones at the well and bushes growing round it. There was a man that had the toothache and he went to the well. He made a station and left a handkerchief at the well. He got cured of the toothache.
