    potato-cake was the chief relish used by the people long ago. It was made of potatoes and flour kneaded up and cut into squares or triangles and baked on a tin lid.
    Long ago people baked once a week so that it would be good and stale and supposed to last longer and so that it would not leave them indigestion or bellyache.
