    My father sets about an acre every year of potatoes. And here are the names of some of them. Kerr pinks, Epicures, Champions, Aran, banners, Yanks, and Dates.
    First my father drains the land with a loye. Then he carts the manure in on the lea. First he spreads the manure, and then he gets a scoring rope. He stretches the rope in a straight line, and fastens it in the ground with a peg. Then he spreads the manure along this. Next he nicks it with a loye. He drops the seed in an angle. Then he turns a sod on them, and next he sets them, that is he cuts a
