  1. It is the custom in this locality that no one gets married in Lent. People say that Mondays and Wednesdays are lucky days to get married on.
    When a man is going to get mailed he sends two men to ask the girl and sends a bottle of whiskey with them.
    Then her parents ask what sort of a place he had and how many cows he kept.
    Then the groom asks how much of a fortune the man was to give his daughter.
    The groom is then invited to the brides house and all arrangements are made and a marriage day appointment.
    The brides mother send for some of her neighboring women to chose what kind of a dress she would
